Smart and sociable accommodation for contemporary city living

Think university bonhomie without the downsides of student digs. Victorian period properties, all our houses resemble spacious family homes built in a prosperous era, with a feeling of light and air from the period windows and high ceilings much appreciated by our discerning tenants. Comfortable and exceptionally well-presented communal areas guarantee instant friends for supper, chat and watching the football – the houses have a large sitting room and a further, similarly well-proportioned open plan kitchen-dining room. Individual rooms span two or three floors of accommodation and all enjoy spruce décor and the appropriate privacy to live your life with and without your housemates. We operate a 50/50 girl/guy split in all our houses so check availability carefully, all ads specify girl or guy preferred to keep the house balanced.

Fantastic facilities

Central heating, freezers, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, wide-screen television in the sitting room. Weekly visit from professional cleaner – no need for a cleaning rota, girls appreciate the sparkling kitchen and bathrooms and guys don’t need to worry about putting on the marigolds to keep the girls happy. (Obviously, the cleaner isn’t there to do a week’s worth of washing up / we know you’ve grown out of creating interesting scientific cultures in the bottom of the coffee mugs). There are plenty of bathrooms so that everyone can get showered in the 7.15am to 7.45am slot - we know everyone needs to get out of the house for work at the same time in the morning. The house is one of a small group of owner-managed properties – no intermediaries, a landlord who always answers the phone, a property manager and a full-time maintenance team ensures that both communal areas and individual rooms in the houses are well-kept and regularly updated and any household problems are dealt with immediately.

Inclusive rental rates

All rental rates are inclusive of bills - water, gas, electricity, tv licence and council tax.

Our philosophy

Why Share?

Often people in our houses are new to Bristol or starting a new job in the city - moving into one of our houses means you can move into an instant social life. The numbers in the houses work well – share with one other and you’re joined at the hip or ships in the night – until you fall out… In one of our houses you can join in or opt out to suit your mood. Many of our tenants establish lasting friendships, sometimes moving out to move into one of our studios or flats together after a couple of years in the house.

House Ethos

Classically, house mates are over 21 and under 35 and we don’t do students, DSS, couples, smokers or pets. All graduates keen to climb the career ladder, the rest of the house tend to keep sensible hours during the week, but expect the social lives to get serious at the weekend. Parties at the house are always a civilized possibility – your house mates will like your friends if they bring a bottle but not if they trash the place. Double beds are on all round, but regular double occupancy isn’t – no moral issues, but play at home every other weekend, play away the rest of the time to keep the numbers of people using the bathrooms down to something sensible.
